Reporters working with EnTamil must work within the highest adherence to editorial standards, as our doctrine is based on balanced reporting, transparency, and good ethics. Accordingly, you will be expected to make regular contributions-a certain number of articles or stories per week or month-on various topics: breaking news, in-depth features, and opinion pieces. This includes being able to meet tight deadlines and, sometimes, to work evenings and weekends, since the action in news dictates it. Desirable is proficiency in digital tools: the content management system, social media, and basic multimedia production.
We seek individuals who embrace collaboration and feedback openly. You will attend editorial meetings in our newsroom and participate in reworking your stories based on editorial direction. Applicants also must meet all legal and professional standards of journalism, including never having been convicted of libel, slander, or plagiarism. All responsibilities, compensation, and terms of confidentiality and noncompetition will be outlined in a contract. The first three months of employment will be a probationary period to ensure it is a good fit and that performance is as expected.
